Based on a true story. 

Richard was begging his mother for food. Every day Richards mother would go to her job and leave Richard and his brother home alone with some bread and a tea pot. When she came home she would be very unhappy and cry a lot.  As Richard got older he learned how to buy groceries from the grocery store by himself with his mother.  One day on his way to the store he saw a gang of boys. These boys grabbed him and knocked him down and after that they took his money. Richard ran home and told his mother. Without saing annything she wrote another note and sent him back out. He saw the boys again, but his mother didn’t let him go back inside the apartment before he bought those groceries. With a stick in his hand, shaking, he knocked the boys in thier head and went to the store to buy the items. That day he learned how to survive by himself in this rude town.
